With great sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news that Rufina Tolmacheva, four of her children, and her brother-in-law, Valerie Ekamasov, were involved in a devastating car accident while traveling on I-95 in South Carolina. They were on their way to Virginia to attend the baptism of Rufina’s 18-year-old son, Elijah.

Tragically, Rufina, her 15-year-old son David, and Valerie passed away at the scene.

Rufina’s family has already endured tremendous hardship. In 2014, Rufina lost her husband and was left to raise their children without him. In 2022, Rufina and her children were forced to leave their home and move to the United States, where they began rebuilding their lives.

Rufina’s children Sofia (16), Felix (14), and Amir (5) were transported to the hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Sofia and Felix have undergone surgeries, while Amir thankfully suffered only minor injuries. They continue to need our prayers as they recover physically and begin to face the unimaginable loss of their mother and brother.

Valerie's family will have a separate funeral fund managed by his wife, Vira Bychkov.

We ask first and foremost for your prayers for the entire family during this incredibly difficult time. Please pray for Sofia, Felix, Amir, Elijah, and all of their loved ones—for healing, comfort, strength, and God’s sustaining grace in the days ahead.

С глубокой скорбью сообщаем трагическую новость: Руфина Толмачева, четверо её детей и её деверь Валерий Екамасов попали в страшную автомобильную аварию на трассе I-95 в Южной Каролине. Они направлялись в Вирджинию на крещение 18-летнего сына Руфины, Ильи.

К сожалению, Руфина, её 15-летний сын Давид и Валера погибли на месте происшествия.

Их семье уже пришлось пройти через тяжёлые испытания. В 2014 году Руфина потеряла мужа и осталась одна воспитывать детей. В 2022 году, Руфина вместе с детьми была вынуждена покинуть свой дом и переехать в Соединённые Штаты, где они начали заново строить свою жизнь.

Дети Руфины — София (16 лет), Феликс (14 лет) и Амир (5 лет) — были доставлены в больницу в Чарлстоне, Южная Каролина. София и Феликс перенесли операции. Амир, слава Богу, получил лишь незначительные травмы.

Просим вас прежде всего молиться за всю семью в это невероятно тяжёлое время. Особенно просим молитв за Софию, Феликса, Амира, Илью и всех родных и близких — о физическом восстановлении, утешении, силе и Божьей благодати в предстоящие дни.

Для семьи Валеры будет создан отдельный фонд для покрытия похоронных расходов, которым будет заниматься его супруга Вера Бычкова.
