UPDATE — Rachel posted this just now - our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. Sending all our love

My sweet husband Gavin Smith passed away early this morning. I am absolutely gutted. Gavin was the sun that my world orbited and my soulmate and best friend. I will share funeral arrangements once I have them. In the meantime, please honor Gav today by helping someone, listening to a Pearl Jam album, or just making sure your own loved ones know how much you care about them. He loved every single one of you.

Help Support Gavin, Rachel & Jocelyn

Gavin Smith is a devoted husband, a loving father, and someone who has spent his life caring for others. He works with people with special needs, dedicating his time and energy to helping others and making a difference in their lives.

Less than a month ago, Gavin was diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer. The diagnosis came suddenly and has changed their lives in ways none of us could have imagined. Tragically, there is nothing more the doctors can do, and Gavin is now receiving hospice care.

Rachel is facing the unimaginable—trying to navigate the devastating reality of losing her husband while also being there for their 13-year-old daughter, Jocelyn. She is heartbroken, overwhelmed, and understandably scared about what the future will hold for her and Jocelyn.

Gavin has spent so much of his life caring for others. Now, it is our turn to care for Gavin and his family.

We are asking for help so that Rachel and Jocelyn can focus on spending this precious time with Gavin without having to carry the additional burden of worrying about finances. Donations will help with the many expenses that come with this devastating situation, including medical and hospice-related costs, household expenses, and the financial challenges Rachel and Jocelyn will face in the months ahead.

If you know Gavin and Rachel, you know how much love exists in this family. And if you don’t know them personally, please know that every donation, share, prayer, and kind thought can make a difference.

No amount is too small. Every bit of support will help Rachel and Jocelyn feel less alone as they navigate the unimaginable days ahead.

Thank you for helping us surround Gavin, Rachel, and Jocelyn with the love and support they need right now. ❤️
